The marriage of Casper Van Dien and real-life princess Catherine Oxenberg is the subject of a reality show focusing on their experiences raising a blended family with five children between them, ranging in age from 1 to 13 years old.
Catherine's father, Howard Oxenberg, takes his granddaughters shopping, then leaves very abruptly; Catherine and Casper participate in a family therapy session; Cappy's return from the hospital is celebrated with a family barbecue.
Casper takes the family camping. Catherine isn't keen on the idea, but agrees to join the others on the condition that she and the babies get to sleep in an RV rather than in the tent that Casper's sharing with the older kids.
At a black-tie celebrity auction in Phoenix, Catherine offers her husband up for bid as revenge for Casper leaving their suitcase at home. Meanwhile, 3-year-old Maya takes dance lessons, and Cappy tries to get a frog.
Catherine and Casper call a family meeting to inform everyone that Cappy has been diagnosed with bi-polar disease; Maya experiences potty-training on the go when the entire brood embarks on a road trip to a spiritual advisor.
It isn't long after Catherine's mother, Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia, arrives in Malibu that she manages to embarrass granddaughter India by picking her up from school...in a limousine. Also: Gracie makes funeral arrangements for a dead bird.
Casper deals with a bout of homesickness after he leaves Catherine and the kids in Malibu to shoot a film with Penelope Ann Miller in Vancouver. While her husband's away, Catherine indulges herself with a nonsurgical face-lift, and 13-year-old India is annoyed that she's so frequently given the adult responsibility of having to watch her younger siblings.
