1985: Colombia is gripped by the bloody attack on the Palace of Justice at the hands of the G-31. In the mayhem, Naranjo recognizes the face of Liso, his sworn enemy who was thought deceased. Meanwhile, Claudia goes into labor as the attack plays out.
Naranjo reaches out to the U.S. ambassador seeking assistance against the cartels. DEA agent White tries to smear Naranjo by implying he's having an affair. Liso, meanwhile, manages to destroy evidence linking him to the attack on the Palace of Justice.
1985: Liso cases Colombia's Palace of Justice ahead of the attack, while also making preparations to assist in the plans to assassinate high-level judges and to implicate the G-31 in the looming tragedy.
After a spike in violent crime, Naranjo joins a security detail at Colombia's Palace of Justice. Hostility peaks between Gustavo and Liso. Escobar, meanwhile, meets with the G-31 to plot an attack against the government.
Escobar orders a hit on a DEA informant who tried to set him up. In the operation to extract the informant, Rita saves Naranjo's life, but Escobar's ambush has fatal consequences. Meanwhile, the drug lord declares war on Colombia's judges.
1984: A wave of violence grips Colombia. Minister Lara is assassinated while Liso plans to kill Naranjo in his own home. Meanwhile, the war against the cartels sees Ochoa and Abad?a captured. Also, Naranjo unmasks a mole on Escobar's payroll.
Escobar's rapid rise in politics earns him a government post. After his wedding, Naranjo is enrolled in a DEA training program, where he meets fellow agent Rita Cienfuegos. Meanwhile, the G-31 seeks guarantees from the government ahead of a peace deal.
