A stylish showcase for top rock artists of the 1970s seems somewhat quaint now, compared to the later music-saturated lineups on venues like MTV and VH1, but short of attending concerts by the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and other marquee acts, Kirshner's gig was, in its time, the hippest thing around.
