Part 1. Bill starts his journey from LA to Cabo San Lucas. His first stop is a quiet little town named Loreto. This two part episode captures the essence of lifestyle in Loreto and brings us some spectacular fishing and diving.
Once a sleepy fishing village at the end of a 55-mile dirt road, Punta Aberojos has prospered greatly to become a successful, well-managed commercial fishing co-ops in Baja. We fish giant grouper and calico bass in the inner bays.
We travel all from Baja Norte's Port of Ensenada toward Baja Sur on the 160' Pacific Provider, but not until we visit wine country. On the trip south, we fish Sacramento Reef and Geronimo Island to see which produces the best results.
See the amazing transformation of Cabo Villa into the emergence as the new Cachet Beach Hotel. Fishing offshore with owner Chris Erickson on his 35' Cabo, the BAD MEDICINE to see what fish we can pick a fight with.
Join the Cobian Sandal pro surf team on the 160' Pacific Provider to sample all the remote East Cape hotspots. Joining us are Bethany Hamilton, Zane Schweitzer, Jeff Clark, Mark Neustadter and Sam George.
Visit the Los Cabos area and there's a good bet a tournament is in progress. The Marlin Capital of the World lends itself well to such competitions, with year-round catches, and a huge fleet of charter boats to allow anglers of any level to compete. The Charter Boat Classic each November is free to enter for anyone who charters a boat from the East Cape to Cabo and pays large checks for the winners.
