Eli gets in touch with his true feelings, but only after David is admitted to the hospital and Veronica announces her engagement; at the same time, Warner suffers a change of heart about Crawford, who he and Camila sent packing to a retiree condo.
The Whittemore's couch is ruined by a drunk Crawford, prompting Camila to suggest that they all ease up on the drinking, which leads the guys to a new music hobby. Meanwhile, Edna catches David stealing from her change jar.
Camila goes away for the weekend to visit her sister, so in order to have the house to himself, Warner pays for Crawford and David to stay at a hotel where they are mistaken for a gay couple on their honeymoon.
Eli feels like he's being bullied by the son of the single mom he's dating. Things get worse when the kid steals the prototype of Ghost Child's newest game. Elsewhere, Warner picks fights with Camila in order to sleep on the comfy couch.
An employee who is fired right before the holidays takes his revenge on Eli and Warner by including an offensive word in their family-friendly Christmas game; at the same time, Edna encourages David to make some present-buying money working as a mall Santa.
Accusations of elder abuse lead to Crawford and David being put in foster care for seniors, which makes their sons happy at first, but then guilt sets in and they end up hatching a plan to rescue their fathers.
David inadvertently brings bedbugs into Eli's home, leaving them with no other choice than to camp out at Ghost Child Games. Meanwhile, Crawford behaves out of character, acting as a help to Camila after she wins the lead in a local play.
Warner hires an older woman as the new office assistant hoping that Eli won't mess things up by making a move on her. However, he didn't predict that he'd be dealing with Crawford and David vying for her affection.
Eli and Warner discover the trick to getting along with their dads after David and Crawford inadvertently consume a batch of "medicinally enhanced" baked goods intended to get Eli's creative juices flowing.
