The finale puts the spotlight on chocolate ingredients. First, the three remaining bakers must create a version of the Sachertorte, a glazed Austrian chocolate cake. Next, they have to create a chocolate cake for a hundred people, featuring caramel flavor and elaborate chocolate decorations, three types of chocolate, and three flavors of chocolate bonbons.
The four remaining bakers have to make Mont Blanc cakes during the skills challenge, which are tarts topped with a tower of chestnut paste. Then, the bakers have to make a Charlotte Royale cake, including peanut butter as the featured flavor.
Nine American chefs are put to the test, as they must succeed a series of baking challenges. First, the chef Scott Conant tasks the contestants with baking Petit Fours, and then they must create a mind-bending cake for fifty people, using vanilla as the featured flavor.
