Poor Brazil! After an embarrassing loss to Germany earlier this week, the World Cup host team's last chance at redemption was ruined by the Netherlands on Saturday. The Netherlands' 3-0 victory secured them third place in the 2014 World Cup.
The Netherlands took an early lead in the game thanks to a penalty kick only three minutes in. A second (super awkward) goal was scored only 13 minutes later. (According to ESPN, this was the first time Brazil allowed two consecutive goals in a World Cup match since 1970.) Hurting Brazil's pride even more, the Netherlands scored a goal late in the game at the 90-minute mark.
Germany and Argentina will face off Sunday for the World Cup final on ABC (3/2c).
