Because we have questions about Christopher the Cube, too.
The Umbrella Academy Season 3 kicks off with a bit of good news: The Brellies have returned to 2019. After spending the second season in the 1960s, Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castañeda), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), Five (Aidan Gallagher), and Viktor (Elliot Page) successfully time-traveled back to the present day. The bad news? The place they once called home is now The Sparrow Academy. After meeting the Umbrellas in 1963, Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) decided to adopt a new set of kids. They are the Sparrows, and each of them has a superpower a little stranger than the next.
The Sparrows also include a — surprise — living Ben (Justin H. Min). But this is not the sweet Ben we've grown to love in the first two seasons of The Umbrella Academy (remember, that one faded away after saving Viktor?) Sparrow Ben is angry, arrogant, and just a complete dickhead. He does appear to have a better grasp of his tentacles-summoning ability, though.
Not as much is known about the rest of the Sparrows and their powers. We're here to break down everything about the Sparrow Academy.
Justin Cornwell, The Umbrella Academy
NetflixThe leader of the bunch, Marcus has superhuman strength. He's determined to protect his family and meets his match in Luther who possesses similar abilities.
Justin H. Min, Britne Oldford, The Umbrella Academy
NetflixThough his personality is entirely different, Sparrow Ben has the same power as Umbrella Ben. He's able to release tentacles from his abdomen and manipulates them to wreak havoc.
Don't let the fact that Fei has no eyes fool you into thinking she can't see. The Sparrow has perfectly fine vision — thanks to the symbiotic relationship she has with the blackbirds she manifests from her body. The birds act as her eyes from all angles and distances and are also ready to attack their prey.
Cazzie David, Justin H. Min, Jake Epstein, The Umbrella Academy
NetflixOf the Sparrows, Alphonso is perhaps the trickiest to fight. That's because the blow you deal at the jokester will be dealt right back at you. Yes, his power is that when enemies attack, they experience the same force of the attack as was unleashed on Alphonso's body.
Genesis Rodriguez, The Umbrella Academy
NetflixSloane's power is gravity manipulation. That means she can make herself, other people, and objects fly — all very useful when it comes to fights. It seems that Sloane is more interested in making peace than in engaging in combat, though.
Genesis Rodriguez, Cazzie David, The Umbrella Academy
NetflixIt's good to avoid being spit on in any battle, but it's particularly important when fighting against Jayme. Once her hallucinogenic black spit hits you, there's no telling what comes next. The victim begins to see visions for who-knows-how-long and becomes useless in the fight.
Justin H. Min, The Umbrella Academy
NetflixChristopher is a telekinetic cube. According to Netflix, "he can turn the room freezing cold and induce paralyzing fear." Christopher is also able to emit energy beams to attack his enemies, so it's best to stay on the cube's good side.
Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy is available to stream.
