France's famed luxury store Hermès has issued a public apology to Oprah Winfrey for turning her away from one of its Paris boutiques last week. In a statement, Hermès expressed "its sincere regrets for any misunderstanding that these circumstances could have caused," adding that the shop was simply closed for a private after-hours public relations event. Close pal Gayle King described the incident as "one of the most humiliating moments" of Winfrey's life. It ranks right up there with O's decision to devote nearly a full hour to Steven Cojocaru last April.
