Vanessa Williams will star in a VH1 scripted drama called Satan's Sisters, the network announced Tuesday. Satan's Sisters is an adaptation of a novel of the same name by former The View co-host Star Jones.

Williams will play Maxine, the creator and host of The Lunch Hour, a popular, long-running daytime talk show co-hosted by a panel of women who create an abundance of backstage drama. (Sound familiar?)

Jones published the novel in 2011, five years after her acrimonious split from The View and Barbara Walters.

The show will premiere in 2017. It will be Williams' first role as a series regular since 666 Park Avenue. She also starred on Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives, and most recently has been recurring on The Good Wife.
