In Tuesday's tension-filled episode of V, Anna (Morena Baccarin) and Erica (Elizabeth Mitchell) finally come face-to-face as they investigate who assaulted Lisa (Laura Vandervoort). Little does Erica know, she's working with the initial attacker. So what are Anna's motives in breaking her daughter's legs? TVGuide.com caught up with Vandervoort to get the dish on how Lisa's feelings for the Evans family just may save their lives, and what's in store for the "Earth-shattering" finale cliff-hanger.

8 things you should know about V's final episodes

TVGuide.com: What's Anna's motive to attack her own daughter?
Laura Vandervoort:
Lisa failed the empathy test, so the audience knows she has empathy and she's in love with Tyler [Logan Huffman], but Anna doesn't necessarily know that, though she suspects it. Anna strikes Lisa first to make her a pawn in bringing Tyler back on the ship, but then she also says to break her legs, so it's probably a punishment as well.

TVGuide.com: Now we finally know that Lisa has feelings for Tyler.
Vandervoort:
The first half of the season was the question of whether she was evil or not. Now we see she feels for Tyler and we think she has emotions, but then the next scene she's completely evil again. She's juggling a lot of new feelings, but it's apparent that she's really in love.

TVGuide.com: It seems like she's starting to see a real mother in Erica.
Vandervoort:
That's what I was thinking when I was shooting the last few episodes. It's the first time she sees what it's like to have a mother who truly cares about her and wants to protect her; she's never had that. To see that in Erica, it hits a spot in her heart or whatever it is that they have for a heart. [Laughs] Every time she sees Erica with Tyler, she compares it to her own life and sees that she wants the warmth.

V's lizard baby gets a due date — and a tail

TVGuide.com: If she had to harm Erica and Tyler, do you think she'd be able to go through with it?
Vandervoort:
No, not at this point. She'd have issues killing anyone because she really is just about peace. The Vs are her own species, but at the same time she doesn't want them to be bad. Because she's next in line for queen, she needs to really juggle and stay on the fence.

TVGuide.com: Might Anna lose control of Lisa?
Vandervoort:
There's always a chance a mother might lose control of her child.

TVGuide.com: Now that Joshua (Mark Hildreth) is trying to turn Lisa, will that put him in harm's way?
Vandervoot:
He sees that Lisa feels emotions and he's blackmailing her, but she's willing to do it. They're both in danger if anyone finds out, but more so Joshua since he's not next in line for queen. I think I'm a little more protected.

Who will be joining the Fifth Column on V?

TVGuide.com: What can you tease for the finale?
Vandervoort:
There is a huge cliff-hanger. It's Earth-shattering and detrimental to the human race and really shakes up everyone's state of being. A lot of the characters that haven't interacted before will for the first time and Erica does get to visit the ship.

V's penultimate episode airs Tuesday at 10/9c on ABC.
