Once Tops Tony Awards

Once was a winner eight times over at the Tony Awards.Leading all shows with 11 nominations, Once took home eight Tonys Sunday, including Best Musical. Once was a winner eight times over at the Tony Awards.
Leading all shows with 11 nominations, Once took home eight Tonys Sunday, including Best Musical. Steve Kazee was named best actor in a musical and John Tiffany won musical directing honors.
Peter and the Starcatcher followed with five awards. Clybourne Park won Best Play.

Audra McDonald engaged

Audra McDonald (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess ) won best actress in a musical — her fifth Tony Award, tying her with record-holders Angela Lansbury and Julie Harris. Porgy and Bess also won Best Revival of a Musical.
Best Revival of a Play went to Death of a Salesman, which also earned best director for Mike Nichols — his ninth trophy.
