Project Runway
10/9c Lifetime
It's a runway takeoff when the seamless reality show opens its seventh season with 16 new clothiers beginning their fashion odyssey — a season-long clash for cash and a skirmish for high-style bragging rights. In a change of backdrops, the show bids adieu to the breezy Los Angeles setting of Season 6 and returns to the gritty concrete jungle of New York City. Returning are series staples Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia. — Dean Maurer

When we left the hot docs, Mark had discovered that he has an 18-year-old daughter (Leven Rambin) and that she's pregnant. And, this being a doctor show (and one with a spin-off featuring an OB-GYN surgeon to boot), it should come as no surprise that complications develop. Looks like it's time for a Private Practice crossover. Meanwhile, expect  Owen-Cristina-Teddy developments, and don't expect the Chief's drinking problem to have gone away. — Paul Droesch

Sterling Archer (voice of H. Jon Benjamin) says he's "the world's most dangerous spy." Maybe so, but he's certainly a danger to ISIS, the spy agency his mother (voice of Jessica Walter) runs, because he's a 21st-century Maxwell Smart. The "21st-century" part means salty language and sexual situations that Maxwell could only have dreamed of. (There's also cartoon nudity.) And the "Maxwell Smart" part means that Sterling isn't smart. In the opener, he trains ISIS comptroller Cyril (voice of Chris Parnell) to be an agent. — Paul Droesch

30 Rock
9/8c NBC
After a month-long hiatus, Tina Fey's lauded laugher returns with two new back-to-back episodes. Jack's gone wild in the first outing: He's haunted by a raucous New Year's Eve after leaving a boozy message on an ex-flame's voice mail. Elsewhere, Jenna engages in a fake relationship with actor James Franco (playing himself). In the second episode, Jack's back with an attack. As Liz's relationship with Danny (Cheyenne Jackson) blooms, it causes a vicious jealous stir in Jack, who schemes to tear them apart. — Dean Maurer

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
9/8c CBS
Just who is Dr. Jekyll (as Langston dubbed him), the serial killer who performs bizarre surgeries on his victims? No one knows but Ray inches closer to uncovering the truth tonight. In other developments, two gorgeous ladies are murdered in a Vegas hotel and the CSIs track a most unusual killer. — Tim Holland
