Some mysterious new villains are mucking things up in the French Quarter this season on The Originals with Henry's (Nicholas Alexander) murder and Hayley's (Phoebe Tonkin) kidnapping. Right now, our bet is these crimes have something to do with the new vampire family Antoinette (Jaime Murray) mentioned in her backstory.
As she tells it, Antoinette's family had rules and customs about vampirism that differ greatly from the Mikaelsons' somewhat hedonistic way of life. But who are these new vamps, and could they be behind the unrest currently plaguing the French Quarter?
"They're real sneaky. They're a crazy family — literally they're a crazy family," Charles Michael Davis told TV Guide. "The actors that play a part of the family are brilliant. I had the pleasure of directing them in my episode, [the sixth in this season], where we actually get to see them interact as a family. It's pretty underhanded what they do and the conflict within that family. You get to see another family that's just as messed up as the Originals, I think."
For now, we're keeping one eye on this new Roman (Jedidiah Goodacre) kid, who's been flirting up a storm with Hope (Danielle Rose Russell). His original character description mentioned he had a dysfunctional family of his own, which sounds like a major red flag.
The Originals premieres Wednesday, April 18 at 9/8c on The CW.
