If you've been waiting for more The L Word, you won't have to wait much longer. The Showtime show is slated to go into production this summer, with a release eyed for sometime this fall. While not too much is known about the series, we do know that it has a title, The L Word: Generation Q.

Generation Q will see the return of original series stars Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig, and Leisha Hailey, and according to Showtime, the three will reprise their original roles "alongside a new generation of diverse, self-possessed LGBTQIA characters experiencing love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in L.A."

A brand new poster was also released for the series, with Showtime's Twitter teasing, "New generation. All new drama."

The L Word Sequel Is Officially Happening at Showtime - with Sarah Shahi!

The revival will have eight episodes, and series creator Ilene Chaiken is returning as executive producer alongside new showrunner Marja-Lewis Ryan. The pilot of Generation Q will be directed by Steph Green. Following the end of the show back in 2009, Chaiken expressed her desire to do an The L Word movie, so a brand new series is clearly filling that void. And Ryan has already expressed her interest to make the series more inclusive. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan explained that the new show will have "more Latina representation" and "more than one" transgender character, who will be played by trans actors.

The L Word: Generation Q will premiere this fall.
