Remember the old days when a show would get canceled and that was the end of the road for it? These days, all canceled shows are apparently up for grabs, including Syfy's The Expanse.

After getting the axe 10 days ago from Syfy, The Expanse might end up getting new life at Amazon. According toThe Hollywood Reporter, Amazon Studios is currently nearing a deal to save the canceled series, giving it a new home and a new season. Should the deal go through, The Expanse will return for its fourth season; if not, the Season 3 finale in July will serve as the series finale.

Thanks to some low live viewing numbers (and a pretty crappy distribution deal) Syfy decided to end its partnership with executive producers and Alcon Entertainment co-founders and co-CEOs Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson, but Johnson and Kosove warned fans not to abandon the series yet. "We respect Syfy's decision to end this partnership but given the commercial and critical success of the show, we fully plan to pursue other opportunities for this terrific and original IP," John and Kosove said in a statement.

It looks like this potential deal with Amazon was already on their minds when they got the bad news from Syfy.

Keep your fingers crossed The Expanse fans!
