Fox likes hanging with the aged
Cool news for comedy fans: Fox has given a full-season order to freshman sitcom The Cool Kids, the network announced Friday. Along with Last Man Standing, which previously got a full-season order, Fox has established a strong Friday night lineup that will stay intact through the spring. The two shows together have pushed Fox to the top of the ratings heap every Friday since the shows premiered last month, according to the network.
The Cool Kids is executive-produced by It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Charlie Day and stars Martin Mull, David Alan Grier, Leslie Jordan and The Carol Burnett Show's Vicki Lawrence as three senior citizens who live in a retirement community and get up to all kinds of age-appropriate, socially inappropriate hijinks, like cheating on an eye exam to keep a driver's license, which is a plotline in Friday's episode.

The Cool Kids airs Fridays at 8:30/7:30c on Fox.
