The Bachelor Host: I Knew Chris Really Wanted to Choose Becca

The Bachelor's Becca might've revealed to Chris in the fantasy suite that she's a virgin, but that didn't stop him from giving her a rose. The Louisiana native, along with fertility nurse Whitney, are headed back to Iowa for the final rose ceremony.

On the episode, Chris and the remaining women headed to Bali for the famous overnight dates, during which Chris was more conflicted about the future than ever. When Chris sat Becca down mid-rose ceremony, she reassured him she's falling in love, and he ultimately sent fun-loving Canadian Kaitlyn home.

But did he make the right decision? And how was Kaitlyn feeling towards Chris when she filmed "Women Tell All"? Plus: Who did Harrison invite to Bachelor in Paradise? Check out this week's interview below.

First, the ratings have been up all season. Are you surprised?
Chris Harrison: What's surprising is when something like Andi's season doesn't rank high. It's nice when the buzz from our office and control room matches the excitement of the fans and the ratings. We often think, "This'll be amazing," and for some reason it doesn't catch on. So, you never know. Sometimes it makes you doubt what you're doing and your skills. But when you have a good season, success begets more success. I don't think you can attribute one thing, but definitely Chris has to do with it. Even if you have a diverse group of women, if they don't have anyone to fight for, they don't care. The reason Britt was so intense was because she really wanted Chris. So, that's a huge part of it.

The fantasy dates weren't as dramatic as seasons past, but Chris seemed more conflicted. Did you feel like he was struggling?
Harrison: I heard he was in a mood. It was really intense. This was definitely the hardest week for him emotionally. He didn't want to make a decision [because] nothing went wrong with any of them.

Becca revealed she was a virgin, and it was fine. But he was later unsure of her feelings. Did you think he'd keep her?
Harrison: Honestly, the way she built it up, I'm guessing once she finally said she was a virgin he was just happy she didn't tell him she was a serial killer. But it didn't have too much of an effect on anything. They still had a great, intimate time together and she's still physical, she's just not going to have sex. They just had an awkward conversation that we didn't get on camera in the suite that morning that set things off and ended everything on such a sour note. When I talked to him, I could tell he was unbelievably torn and very conflicted, but at the same time I knew then that he wanted to pick Becca. He needed a reason and any kind of confirmation from her because he wanted it to be Becca. Nothing was wrong with Kailtyn, but I could tell he just wanted someone to say, "Pick Becca and don't worry about it." But that wasn't my place. That's why we asked him to have a conversation with Becca and either get the confirmation he needed or go in the opposite direction. That talk was everything. It's almost like he could take a deep breath and everything was OK again.

I thought Whitney and Chris' conversation about moving to Iowa was one of the most honest "fantasy suite" talks we've seen in a while.
Harrison: People give us a hard time because we don't show "real conversations," but I thought it was brutally honest. I'm glad we showed it because it's kind of what this whole season has been about. It's not hard for Chris to find a woman. It's hard for Chris to find the woman of his dreams and bring her back to Iowa. I really respected Whitney's take on it, saying, "If you put a list on the board, would my No. 1 be to move to Arlington? Of course not." I'm glad she said that. It's a tough life and a different life, but. like she said, it could be a great life.

Kaitlyn was almost silent when Chris sent her home. Was she in shock?
Harrison: I said, "I haven't known you that long, but I haven't known you to be speechless," and she said she didn't know how to comprehend what was happening. You're so unsure the whole time, and she said she was finally confident. She thought Becca was going home.

How was she at "Women Tell All," which you just filmed?
Harrison: She was a little emotional, but then a little disappointed and mad. I think she felt like she gave him what he wanted, which was to open up and say I love you. She doesn't regret that, but at the same time, she got reassurance from him and he turns around and breaks up with her. It was the proverbial rug being ripped from under her.

What else can you preview from "Women Tell All"?
Harrison: Britt was the star of the show and is still, I think, in love with the guy. It was brutal. She leaned in on Carly [because she] felt if things had been different, if the girls hadn't sabotaged her, she and Chris would've ended up together. But it was the craziest "Tell All." Usually we have one or two beats we're really looking for. We went in thinking Kelsey would be two segments and Britt will be two segments. One of my favorites was with Ashley S. Honestly, it's like she's in on the joke, but not completely. She did explain the Mesa Verde thing, but then doesn't completely explain the Mesa Verde thing. I told her, "I don't know if I'm allowed to do this, but I'm extending an invitation to you right now to be on [Bachelor in Paradise]."
