Super Bowl XL not only drew an average of 90.7 million viewers but saw an estimated 141.4 million people tune in for at least six minutes of the game, making it the second-most-viewed TV program in history, behind only the 2004 Super Bowl. Similarly, lead-out Grey's Anatomy enjoyed far and away its highest ratings ever 38.1 mil total viewers and was ABC's best-performing telecast in the 18-49 demo since the April 1997 coming-out episode of Ellen (who, I imagine, probably took a shine to Grey's shower dream).
