Starz is going behind the scenes of filmmaking with its first unscripted competition series The Chair.
The 10-part documentary project follows two first-time feature-film directors as they separately attempt to craft a movie from the same original script. The competitors are Shane Dawson, who's built a huge online following via Twitter and his three YouTube comedy channels, and Anna Martemucci, an NYU film school graduate and independent filmmaker. Both of their finished films will have a limited release in theaters and will also air on Starz. In the end, viewers will be able to vote to decide which of the two directors takes home a $250,000 prize. Project Greenlight's Chris Moore is an executive producer alongside Zachary Quinto who will also mentor the filmmakers.

"The premise for The Chair came out of my experiences as a movie producer and I thought it would be really fun having two directors making the same movie," Moore says in the exclusive preview below. "For me, the point is to show the process that these directors go through."
The Chair premieres on Saturday, September 6 at 11/10c on Starz. The first five episodes will also be available exclusively for Starz subscribers on Starz PLAY and Starz on Demand the same day.
