As the world continues to mourn Marvel visionary Stan Lee, who passed away Monday at 95 years old, many are finding comfort in old pictures and videos of the man behind many of pop culture's most beloved comic book characters.

Among those finding their way back to circulation is a 1995 clip from his interview on Late Night with Conan O'Brien which was uploaded by O'Brien's team on Monday. During the interview, Lee opened up about writing celebrity obituaries in high school before building his Marvel empire.

Chris Evans, Ryan Reynolds, and Others Remember Marvel's Stan Lee

"When I was in high school, I freelanced and I wrote obituaries for people who were still alive," Lee explained in the throwback clip. "When a celebrity dies, about 15 minutes later the newspaper comes out and there are three pages of write-ups about 'em and you wonder how did they write it that fast? It's all there in advance. And that's how you know you're famous. I would love to think somewhere my obituary is in a file. Then I'd know I made it."

Check out the sweet clip above and try not to smile while remembering an icon and a legend.
