MTV's week-long "MC Battles" contest was scrapped Monday after the huge crowd gathered at the network's Times Square studio became unruly. Two police officers were injured during the melee and four people were arrested for disorderly conduct. In addition, one local journalist — who was in the midst of writing his daily "Entertainment News" column when the mini-riot broke out — was extremely distracted by all the sirens blaring outside his midtown office.
