Rob Lowe is about to bring his charisma to a whole new field: hosting a game show.

As emcee of Fox's new competition series Mental Samurai, the former star of The Grinder presides over a mental agility showdown. In TV Guide's exclusive clip from the series premiere, Lowe meets his first contestant, graphic designer Megan Gage. Megan previously attended Stanford but was overwhelmed by the high-pressure environment; though her family was thrilled to see her walk at graduation, she later admitted that she had actually failed her classes and had only pretended to graduate. Now, Megan is out to prove to herself and her adorable parents that she's got what it takes.

Billed as "the first-ever obstacle course...for the mind," Mental Samurai challenges contestants to answer rapid-fire questions in the fields of knowledge, memory, numbers, and sequencing -- while suspended in a capsule capable of rotating 360 degrees.

Mental Samurai premieres March 19 at 9/8c on Fox.
