That brings its 12-day total to $133.3 million. Oscar shoo-in Road to Perdition — starring Tom Hanks and Paul Newman as Depression-era hitmen — debuted at No. 2 with a potent $22.1 million. Perdition's opening is even more impressive when you consider that Sam Mendes's acclaimed drama played in half as many theaters as MiB II.
