ABC News is in no rush to name a full-time successor to World News Tonight anchor Peter Jennings, who was felled by lung cancer on Sunday. "There will be a day when we address the question of what comes next; we are not close to that day now," says a spokesperson. Charles Gibson and Elizabeth Vargas have split the anchor duties since April, when Jennings announced his cancer diagnosis. As for the news program's title, the rep says, "[It] will be called World News Tonight with Peter Jennings; when it feels appropriate, that will be changed." ABC will pay tribute to Jennings tonight on Primetime Live, then air a two-hour special, Peter Jennings: Reporter, Wednesday at 8pm/ET.
