How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life) got off to a solid start Wednesday.
The ABC comedy premiered to 8.4 million viewers and a 2.9 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, drawing more viewers than and the same rating as Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23. Parents had the best retention rate of our Modern Family (10.6 million, 4.1) in more than two years.

TV Scorecard: What's renewed? What's canceled?

The Middle (7.2 million, 2.0) and Nashville (5.6 million, 1.7) both grew. Suburgatory (5.6 million, 1.8) was down from last week, but was improved on The Neighbors' numbers in its new timeslot.
American Idol (11.5 million, 3.0) dropped two-tenths to hit a new all-time Wednesday low.
CBS' and NBC's lineups were all down, save for a special broadcast of Dateline (5.9 million, 1.4), which improved on Whitney's numbers.
