The good news? American Idol topped Wednesday. The bad? It's the show's lowest-rated finale ever.
Idol's 127-minute results show set the new low with an average of 21 million viewers and a 6.1 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic. In comparison, last year's finale earned 29.3 million viewers and a 9.2, which was up from 2010's 24 million and an 8.2. Idol, however, grew 43 percent from last week's numbers.
