Stefan Salvatore may not be appearing on Legacies due to him being super dead and all, but the CW show still received a visit from Paul Wesley in its first season!

Wesley directed this week's episode, titled "The Boy Who Still Had a Lot of Good to Do," which focuses on M.G.'s (Quincy Fouse) road trip to visit his parents. It goes without saying this is going to end terribly though; just think about how Landon's (Aria Shahghasemi) road trip to find his mom went...

The show has largely focused on new monsters in its first season, but it sounds like this week is going to have a lot of good vampire elements in it, which is pretty perfect for Wesley. "It was nice to have him, and the writer was laughing because it was an episode that had a lot of vamp feeding, " Julie Plec told TV Guide, "and she said that Paul was able to express the tricks of the trade to the actors on how to do a proper vamp feed very well after years and years of experience."

Who better to teach you how to vamp out on someone than Stefan Salvatore himself! There's also an interesting parallel between M.G. and Stefan; Legacies has been hinting that M.G. might have the potential to become a ripper just like Stefan because of how badly he's handled feeding from the vein in the past. What are the chances Wesley gave him tips on how best to accidentally rip someone's head off while feeding?

Hope's Former Flame on The Originals Will Appear on Legacies

As for the rest of the cast, there were definitely a few starstruck Legacies newbies, including Kaylee Bryant, who we all know is a huge fan of The Vampire Diaries thanks toher stellar score on our Trivia Game.

"It's funny how normal it's gotten. I feel like initially when I saw Zach Roerig on set or Jodi [Lyn O'Keefe] came on set, it was an out of body experience of, 'How do I act normal when I have watched you for years and binged your face on Netflix?'" Bryant told TV Guide. "So when Paul came in, I had this weird sense of calm, because I feel like it's gradually become more and more normal, which I never thought it would be."

"But I had a very strange interaction with him," she continued. "I had found two homeless dogs on the side of the street, and so I ran into him on set and did not think anything of it, like, 'Oh hey, yeah, nice to meet you. Do you need dogs?' And he said, 'I'm sorry I don't think I can take in dogs,' and I was like, 'OK, that's fine," and walked away. And when I walked away I went, 'Kaylee, what are you doing?! That was Stefan and you just offered homeless dogs to Stefan Salvatore."

I had a great time," Wesley told TV Guide just after he'd wrapped the episode. "I think directing is a completely different ballgame. It's something that I truly love, that I have a true passion for. I certainly won't be stepping in front of the camera as anything vampire-related, but behind the camera... I had such a great time directing those kids and Matt Davis and being in my old stomping ground Atlanta. Every time I direct, it's an opportunity for me to brush up on my technical skills and learn how to talk to different actors and adapt to different tones. It's always a welcome opportunity for me."

Here's hoping Wesley will be back to direct another episode so Bryant can have another swing at her meet-and-greet, preferably without the homeless dogs this time. In the meantime, check out some exclusive photos from Wesley's episode below!
