Playboy announced Thursday that Pamela Anderson will grace the cover of its final nude issue, which hits newsstands next Friday.

"To close out this era in the magazine's history, it only made sense to put the most famous Playmate in Playboy history on the cover: Pamela Anderson," the magazine said in a statement.

The January/February 2016 issue will also feature an interview with Anderson conducted by James Franco, as well as features on Ron Howard, Jay and Mark Duplass, and Samantha Bee.

Anderson opens up to Franco about her first Playboy photo shoot, recalling: "The photographer shot me in one roll of film because I was nervous and throwing up. But then I saw the pictures, and from there it was hard to keep my clothes on! I was painfully shy before, but then it clicked in my head that nobody cares what you look like naked except you. People are more concerned about themselves and their own flaws."

In October, the magazine announced that it would stop publishing nude photos beginning with the March 2016 issue.
