If the books are any indication, we may see the last of Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) past-life nemesis, Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies), in the upcoming third season of Outlander, but we'll also be getting a lot more of her present-day husband, Frank (also Menzies).

Though Claire's life with her first husband is just "lightly sketched" in the book version of Voyager, the upcoming season will dive into Claire and Frank's years together after her return from Culloden -- a time period that was skipped over in Season 2.

"They've expanded that end of the story a little bit, but they've done it well, very consistently," author Diana Gabaldon, who has seen the first four episodes of Season 3, tells us.

But don't worry, Jamie (Sam Heughan) fans. Gabaldon promises that the beginning of the season will be familiar to fans of the book -- including Jamie's showdown with nemesis Black Jack. "Most of Jamie's stuff, which is a lot of the first part, is done very straight from the book," the writer teases. "It's very recognizable, you might say."
