Robert De Niro will host 9/11, a two-hour CBS special about the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center (airing March 10 at 9 pm/ET). The show will feature never-before-seen footage of the two plane crashes, shot by French filmmakers Gedeon and Jule Naudet. Why will De Niro emcee? Says Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter, who's a 9/11 co-producer: "Robert De Niro is a quintessential New Yorker who has been instrumental in building up the TriBeCa neighborhood — in the very area of the city that was devastated by the Sept. 11 attacks."
