Here's How to Watch the New Year's Day College Football Games

The New Year is here, and what better way to celebrate the arrival of 2019 (and/or cure that New Year's Eve party hangover) than by sitting back with a few good gridiron games?

To start things out on a competitive note, there are five big NCAA matchups lined up for New Year's Day. Although the playoffs are now done -- with the Alabama Crimson Tide facing the Clemson Tigers at the National Championship game again this year -- these are still some the best teams of the season going head-to-head and should make for some entertaining pigskin playtime ahead of the biggest game of the season.

Here's what you need to know about how to watch all of the college football games airing today, Jan. 1 (all times eastern).

The Outback Bowl

The Iowa Hawkeyes (8-4) and the No. 18 ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs (8-4) will go head-to-head at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida at 12 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2, which is available for streaming through non-cable packages like Hulu Live, Sling TV, DirecTV Now and WatchESPN apps.

The Citrus Bowl

No. 12 ranked Penn State Nittany Lions (9-3) take on the No. 18 ranked Kentucky Wildcats (9-3) at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida starting at 1 p.m. The game will air live on ABC, which is also available for streaming through packages with Hulu Live, Sling TV, DirecTV Now and ABC Live (for select markets).

The PlayStation Fiesta Bowl

After a stellar season, the No. 8 ranked University of Central Florida Knights (12-0) will find out if they can stay undefeated against an SEC West team with the No. 11 ranked Louisiana State University Tigers (9-3) at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona at 1 p.m. The game will air on ESPN, which is also available for streaming on Hulu Live, Sling TV, DirecTV Now and WatchESPN apps.

The Rose Bowl

The No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes (12-1) are up against the No. 9 Washington Huskies (10-3) at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California starting at 5 p.m. ESPN will air the game, which means it can also be streamed on Hulu Live, Sling TV, DirecTV Now and WatchESPN apps.

The Allstate Sugar Bowl

Last but not least, the No. 5 ranked Georgia Bulldogs (11-2) will head west to take on the No. 15 Texas Longhorns (9-4) at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana starting at 8:45 p.m. ESPN will air this game live, which means fans will also have the option to stream it on Hulu Live, Sling TV, DirecTV Now and WatchESPN apps.
