Chuck Lorre, the man behind such sitcoms as The Big Bang Theoryand Two and a Half Men, is flexing his dramedy muscles with the upcoming series The Kominsky Method, a Chuck Lorre show that doesn't really feel like a Chuck Lorre show.

In the official trailer, which premiered Friday, Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin are two lifelong friends navigating the highs and lows of their later years with humor, attitude and lots of prostate jokes. "Your boat is slow? I'm like when the Titanic was pointing up," Arkin says in the video.

Douglas stars as Sandy, an aging actor-turned-acting coach trying to recapture his youth by dating a woman half his age. Meanwhile, Arkin plays Norman, Sandy's agent and best friend whose cantankerous disposition feels like a calmer version of Jack Lemmon in Grumpy Old Men. Judging from the trailer, this series will make you laugh and then kick you in the guy as these reluctant besties realize they're stuck with each other for the rest of their lives.

The series was co-created by Lorre who will also serve as executive producer. Look out for The Kominksy Method when it arrives on Netflix Friday, Nov. 16.
