Sam's story gets another ten episodes
Atypical, Netflix's sweet coming-of-age family dramedy, will be back for a ten-episode third season, the streaming service announced Wednesday.
Atypical tells the story of Sam (Keir Gilchrist), an 18-year-old on the autistic spectrum, and his family as they all fumble through life's trials and triumphs. In addition to Gilchrist, the cast includes Jennifer Jason Leigh as Sam's mother Elsa; Michael Rapaport as his father Doug; Bridgette Lundy-Paine as his sister Casey; and Amy Okuda as his therapist Julia.
Season 2 premiered in September. TV Guide's Megan Vick called it "funny and extremely endearing" and said it built upon Season 1's foundation in surprising and honest ways. Hopefully Season 3 continues that streak. No premiere date has been set for Season 3 of the Robia Rashid-created series. Season 1 premiered in August 2017, and Season 2 followed 13 months later.
Atypical Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Netflix.
