Everyone wants a piece of Rayna James (Connie Britton) when Nashville returns for Season 5.

The show has added Cameron Scoggins in a recurring role as Zach Welles, a young Silicon Valley billionaire who also happens to be an obsessive Rayna superfan, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Though he dresses the part and acts self-confident and personable, Zach is still a socially awkward outsider deep down. He connects with Rayna when the two cross paths professionally in the Season 5 premiere - but, as TVGuide.com previously reported, there may be something not that innocent beneath his boyish fandom.

Nashville Mega Buzz: Rayna meets a wealthy superfan - but is he bad news?

He has the money, the connections and the social media savvy to introduce Rayna's music to a whole new generation, but something tells us his tech expertise isn't the only thing Zach's going to offer up.

In addition, TVGuide.com has learned that Joseph David-Jones (DC's Legends of Tomorrow)has been cast in the recurring role of Clay, a young African-American musician in his mid-20s who is destined for great things. He is a charming, outgoing and highly-motivated young man, but also a volatile one who suffers intense mood swings.

David-Jones was added after a nationwide casting call for actor-musicians that included auditions in New York, Los Angeles and Nashville.

Scoggins and David-Jones join previously-announced cast addition Jen Richards, who will play a physical therapist in Season 5. His previous credits include guest roles on The Good Wife, Person of Interest and The Blacklist.

Nashville kicks off its fifth season, and first under the CMT/Hulu/Lionsgate partnership, on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 9/8c, with episodes made available on Hulu the following day.
