Mega Buzz: Is S.H.I.E.L.D. Going to Become Overrun with Superheroes?

Show's boss weighs in on Skye

Sadie Gennis

Every week, Inhumans seem to play a bigger and bigger role in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.mythology. But don't worry: According to executive producer Jeffrey Bell, the ABC drama isn't going to become overrun by characters with superpowers any time soon.

Check out all this week's Mega Buzz scoop!

"That's not really who or what this show is," Bell tells TVGuide.com. "Inhumans are very much a part of the Marvel Universe. We're also a TV show, not the movies. [Powers] will certainly be an ongoing texture to our show, but I think it's more about the individual characters we meet rather than we're just going to jump both feet into the Inhuman world."

One of those individual characters is Skye (Chloe Bennet), who has played a key role in bringing powers into the S.H.I.E.L.D. world as she learns about her gifts under the guidance of her mother. And although she's wrestled with her feelings about her powers this season, Bell promises the finale will offer a conclusion about what exactly those powers mean to her. "We looked at her journey this season as birth of a superhero," Bell says. "You want by the end of the season to have a sense of 'This is who I am, these are my abilities and I'm mostly OK with it' or 'I hate it.'"
