Mega Buzz: Inside Big Bang's Mother of a Fight

There will be slapping

The Big Bang Theory is bringing the mama drama.

Leonard's mother, Beverly (Christine Baranski), and Sheldon's mom, Mary (Laurie Metcalf), will meet for the first time on Thursday's episode (8/7c, CBS), when both ladies drop by to watch their boys receive an award. Unsurprisingly, Beverly's psychiatric-based pragmatism clashes with Bible-thumping Mary -- and it gets ugly. "It's pretty explosive," executive producer Steve Molaro tells us of the row, which won't turn into a full-blown catfight, but will feature some slapping.

But perhaps more disconcerting than their mothers not getting along is poor Leonard (Johnny Galecki) getting the shaft yet again. "Sheldon's mom of course is mothering and loving on Sheldon [Jim Parsons], and Leonard's mom also ends up doting on Sheldon, and Leonard's kicked to the side," Molaro says. "He didn't grow up with lots of public displays of affection and has had enough of it."

Will any of them kiss and make up?
