Medium Preview: Allison Forms a New Alliance

Things are shaking up for the happy DuBois family in the new season of Medium. When last we saw her, Allison (Patricia Arquette) was dealing with being "outed" as a psychic by her supposed friend P.D. McCall (Neve Campbell), who turned out to be a reporter — and who turned out to fulfill Allison's prophecy by being murdered. The aftermath of that revelation means that Allison has lost her job with the D.A.'s office and tries to find gainful employment by joining forces with private investigator Cynthia Keener (Anjelica Huston, in a six-episode arc), while her husband, Joe (Jack Weber), is out of work himself after the shoot-out at his aerospace engineering firm last season. So the super-supportive couple are struggling to make ends meet and provide for their three precocious daughters, and the stress takes its toll on their relationship. With everything we've come to know and love about Medium up in the air, should be an interesting (if shortened) season! — Nina Hämme...
