Marvel's Cloak & Dagger Reveals Why Liam Returned for Tandy

Thursday's episode of Marvel's Cloak and Dagger elevated the standard "What If" episode by giving us three different versions of Tandy's (Olivia Holt) life if the accident that gave her and Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) their powers had gone differently. Even in the best possible version Tandy still found herself in dark places and needing Tyrone to rescue her, cementing their status as the divine pairing.

TV Guide's behind-the-scenes look at the episode reveals one of Tandy's darker alternate lives though, in which she still ends up a pit pocket but wants to save the world at the same time. Everything that happens in the scene comes from Tandy's subconscious, and the clip helps point out the clues that lead to what she's doing.

One thing you might have missed is Liam (Carl Lundstedt), who stops to sign Tandy's petition to save the birds. Liam was Tandy's former partner-in-crime and someone we haven't seen since Season 1. He's such an important part of Tandy's upbringing, though, that he would naturally show up in her subconscious. Ironically, Tandy steals his wallet the same way she stole Tyrone's wallet in the pilot.
