Hoping to double-up on Primetime Emmy nominations (and wins) for its ladies, Mad Men has shifted Elisabeth Moss from the lead race to the supporting one for this year's awards, according to The Hollywood Reporter.January Jones ' chances of getting nominated this year in lead, a source tells the trade paper. Though she's earned two Golden Globe nominations, Jones has been snubbed twice at the Emmys. However, Jones' Betty Draper was front-and-center last season as she confronted Don about his double life and demanded a divorce.Category switcheroos are not new to the Emmys, which, unlike the Oscars, allow candidates to submit in the race of their choice. In recent years, Friends upgraded all six stars to lead after previously submitting everyone in supporting, resulting in a victory for Jennifer Aniston, while The West Wing's Allison Janney took home two drama lead actress Emmys after winning two in the supporting race.
