Raquel Welch, Gina Gershon to Star in Versace TV Movie on Lifetime

October is going to be a fashionable month on Lifetime.

Not only is the network planning a Gianni Versace documentary, but Lifetime has also announced plans for an original film based on his sister, Donatella Versace, according toThe Hollywood Reporter.

Gina Gershon will star as Donatella Versace in House of Versace, which will chronicle the designer's sudden fame after Gianni's 1997 slaying. Enrico Colatoni will play Gianniand Raquel Welch will portray their Aunt Lucia. Colm Feore will also star as their brother Santo.

Based on Deborah Ball's House of Versace: The Untold Story of Genius, Murder and Survival, the TV movie will focus on Donatella's inspiring comeback from drug addiction and near-bankrupty to become the fashion icon she and the brand are today.

House of Versace will premiere Saturday, Oct. 5 at 8/7c and will be followed at 10/9c by the hourlong documentary Versace: Beyond the Headlines.
