When faced with a rambunctious toddler, sometimes a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do. On Thursday's Life in Pieces, Heather (Betsy Brandt) shows us all how it's done, professional style.

In this exclusive clip from Thursday's episode, "Birth Meddling Jacket Denial," Greg (Colin Hanks) stops by Heather's place to pick up Lark (Ana Sophia Heger), only to find that his sister has put his daughter to work. Heather — who's thrilled when Samantha (Holly J. Barrett) has a falling-out with a friend who was a bad influence — really needs to put her feet up and have a glass of wine, so she's deployed the time-honored tradition of having her niece "play" with the vacuum. Shady? Maybe? Genius? You bet.

"Birth Meddling Jacket Denial" also features the return of Joey King as Morgan, the 17-year-old pregnant teen who's planning to have Matt (Thomas Sadoski) and Colleen (Angelique Cabral) adopt her baby. But when they learn they may not be allowed in the delivery room for the birth of the baby they are planning to adopt, they try to convince Morgan to have the baby at home.

Life in Pieces airs Thursdays at 9:30/8:30c on CBS.
