The Vampire Diaries and The Originals Fans Really Wanted More Cameos in the Legacies Premiere

Mostly, they just want more cameos

Launching a spin-off show is always dicey, considering you run the risk of alienating your original fanbase with adjustments or changes to the world they know and love. On the other hand, hardcore fans will give just about anything to live in those fictional worlds a little longer, meaning they could fall head over heels in love. So which was the case for The Vampire Diaries and The Originalsfans when it came to the new series premiere of Legacies?

Legacies kept us in the small town of Mystic Falls, but rather than fixating on forbidden vampire romance, it honed in on the school that now exists in Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) ancestral home and the magical children that live there. Familiar names and faces like Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell) and Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis) gave us a lingering taste of the shows that came before, while new characters like MG (Quincy Fouse) and Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) and Josie Saltzman (Kaylee Bryant) gave the whole thing a quirky and refreshing new batch of storylines that felt like a major deviation from the norm.

There were quite a few fans who were surprisingly positive about the new series, jumping right on board for the continuation of the "TVDU" as it's been so fondly named.

For the most part though, it felt like most fans were sitting around waiting for more cameos from original characters to roll in. From Salvatores to Mikaelsons to Forbes, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals fans couldn't seem to let go of their old faves for very long...

Here's hoping the more they get to know and love these new characters in this new addition to The Vampire Diaries universe, fans will break away from the desire to beg for more of those old characters because they're so preoccupied with loving the new ones!
