MORE L. RON HUBBUB
Kirstie Alley says, "Shame on you" to Rolling Stone's recent exposé on Scientology. In a letter obtained by the New York Daily News, Alley rails at the music bible for "religion-bashing for the sake of sales," adding, "Your cool factor just dropped to Reader's Digest [level]." (Ouch.) Janet Reitman, who invested nine months of research into her 13,500-word report (and who took direct hits elsewhere in Alley's missive), says the letter "exemplifies why the Church of Scientology has an image problem rather than debate points of substance, its followers all too often veer into personal attacks." Or beat up on poor South Park.
