Julia Roberts to Star in a Feature Film Version of the Batkid Story

A pretty woman is coming to the rescue of Batkid! Julia Roberts will produce and star in a feature film remake of the documentary Batkid Begins: The Wish Heard Around the World.

In case you weren't anywhere near the Internet on November 15, 2013, Batkid is the moniker given to then 5-year-old Miles Scott, a leukemia patient whose Make-A-Wish event went viral and turned hearts into puddles of feelgoodness. Miles' wish was to be Batman for a day, and the city of San Francisco pulled out all the stops to make it happen, complete with a Batmobile duplicate, a mystery to solve, actors dressed as Batman and villains, police escorts, and a key-to-the-city presentation at City Hall.

Roberts will produce the movie under her Red Om Films banner, with Batkid Begins director Dana Nachman also producing.Batkid Begins premiered Friday at the Sundance Film Festival.
