Jimmy Kimmel underwent a successful emergency appendectomy on Wednesday night in Los Angeles, his rep Lewis Kay tells TV Guide.
"The rest of this week's tapings of Jimmy Kimmel Live have been canceled until he is back on his feet," says Kay. "He is resting comfortably and is looking forward to getting back to work."
Kimmel is both host and executive producer of Live, which features a bevy of his family and friends, including his cousin Sal, his Uncle Frank, his Aunt Chippy and his parents. Kimmel also hosts ABC's new variety game show Set for Life, which premieres July 20, and he is slated to host the 2007 ESPY Awards in July.
