You've seen him do some frighteningly nimble splits, kick some serious butt, and then show off his own backside in practically every movie he's been in, but now you'll see Jean-Claude Van Damme like you've never seen him before; in a scripted TV comedy.
Van Damme, 55, is set to star in an original series for Amazon, The Hollywood Reporter says. Jean-Claude Van Johnson, which the streaming service is set to pilot, will have Van Damme playing a famous martial arts pro/actor who moonlights as a black ops private contractor.
The show marks his first small-screen role after a string of tough-guy flicks including The Expendables 2, whose writer Dave Callaham is set to write this script. The series has been in the works since 2014 but will reportedly begin production in Los Angeles in May 2016. No word on co-stars, but the script calls for a woman named Vanessa - a fellow operative and the love that got away.
