Sometimes partnerships just don't work out.

Janeane Garofalo, who was slated to star in Bravo's upcomingGirlfriends' Guide to Divorce, will exit the show midway through its first season, TVLine reports.

The series, which is Bravo's first foray into scripted television, follows self-help author Abby (Lisa Edelstein) as she navigates a divorce, with the help of her best (and also divorced) friends Lyla (Garofalo) and Phoebe (Beau Garrett). Last month, it was announced that Bernadette Peters will play Abby's mother.

A source tells TVLine that Garofalo will continue shooting through October and that her leaving the show is "part of the natural evolution of the character." It's unclear whether her exit was planned when the show was first conceived, however.

Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce is based on the bestselling book series by Vicki Iovine, adapted for television by Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

The 13-episode first season is scheduled to premiere on Bravo on December 2.

Are you disappointed Garofalo won't continue with the show?
