"There were 10 models there to do the Top 10 List, and nobody knows until the last minute who the cover will be," Shayk said. "And then I saw it, and I couldn't believe it."
Shayk, the girlfriend of soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, has been in the swimsuit issue five previous times, but has never been on the cover.
Although it's tradition to keep the cover a secret until the airing of The Late Show, the image was accidentally revealed early Monday on Twitter by a woman who saw the unveiling for the taping.
