IDOL WORSHIP WANES

As reported Thursday, roughly 30 million viewers watched Fantasia Barrino bo-bo her way to victory on American Idol Wednesday night. That's down from the 38.1 million who watched last year's Ruben-Clay matchup. (The drop-off is being blamed on the idiot who gave Leah Labelle a microphone.) Meanwhile, Fox says of the 65 million votes cast, Fantasia received 1.3 million more than Diana. For more on Idol's ratings, read Stephen Battaglio's new column, The Biz.
